Original Nier and Drakengard 3 composer Keiichi Okabe returned as composer with his studio band Monaca, which also includes Keigo Hoashi, Kuniyuki Takahashi and Shotaro Seo. For NieR: Automata they created haunting melodies of melancholy, fitting to the bleak and mechanized environments. Vocalists Emi Evans and Nami Nakagawa are this time are joined by J’Nique Nicole who gives alternative takes on the themes and also forms a three-part chorus in more dramatic situations like boss fights! Otherwise, Okabe created multiple hard and soft tracks that transition into each other depending on situation and environment, fitting to the open world environment.
